Pakistan Under Lockdown: Military Deployed as Pro-Khamenei Riots Claim 24 Lives
After the killing of the Supreme leader of Iran, the situation in Pakistan got violent. At least 24 people were killed in the clashes between protestors and forces, including 10 killed outside the USA consulate in Karachi during a violent protest.
In response to the escalating violence, which included the vandalism of UN offices and government buildings, authorities have imposed a 3-day curfew in parts of the Gilgit-Baltistan region and called in the military. Security has been tightened around all US diplomatic missions, and visa services have been suspended as the government fears further deterioration of law and order.
